Are you passionate about simplifying complex technical concepts through clear, engaging content? At HackerRank, we are looking for a Technical Writer Intern who can help us craft high-quality documentation and resources that empower developers and our customers alike. In this role, you’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and the customer success team to create meaningful content that supports our platform and drives user success.

Eligibility

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a Master’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field.
  • [Bonus] Previous experience with blog writing, documentation, or open-source contributions.
  • [Bonus] Familiarity with documentation tools, project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Linear), and visual content tools (e.g., Camtasia, ScreenStudio).

What You’ll Do

  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation such as user guides, how-to guides, integration guides, FAQs, and release notes for developer and customer audiences
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams to gather information and document new features and updates.
  • Continuously review, update, and improve existing documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Use visuals—such as screenshots and short GIFs—to enhance the clarity and engagement of technical content
  • Ensure documentation aligns with the HackerRank Documentation Style Guide, including voice, tone, formatting, and terminology.
